While we were building a new home at The Cliffs, the number of issues we had to deal with seemed a bit overwhelming. When approaching this process it was particularly satisfying to find a rental arrangement in Country Place that met our every need during the year-long construction process and effectively eliminated a major concern for interim housing.

Being new, we expected the unit in Country Place to be spacious and clean, and it was. And, we were pleasantly surprised by a series of additional features that made our stay so much more enjoyable:

• Convenient - Located just outside the Cliffs Valley back gate, we are within walking distance of the Valley Wellness Center and less than a mile to the Country Club.
• Flexible - Construction completion dates are less than exact. Through proper communication with the owner, we were able to repeatedly adjust our final departure as needed.
• Integration into the Cliffs lifestyle - The neighborhood is full of people just like you…from all across the country…excited to be a part of The Cliffs. Meeting these couples was a really nice aspect of our stay here and we will build on these relationships in the years ahead.

But what makes all this so special is the effort and dedication of Ray Laub and his wife, Pat. They are wonderful people who care about The Cliffs, this neighborhood and you. We are so thankful we had the opportunity to meet them and begin our Cliffs experience this way.

When we realized what a short commute it is from Country Place to Mountain Park it was just one more of many reasons that Country Place became a real financial bargain. At Country Place we were just a few minutes from all of the amenities at the Cliffs Valley that we enjoyed on a regular basis.

At Country Place all of our yard maintenance was performed at no additional cost to us. Our priority was building our new home and living in a home with no maintenance worries was important to us.

We appreciated most of all, immediately becoming part of a vibrant community of newcomers sharing the same experiences as ourselves. This was in addition to the many new friends we made at the Cliffs Valley.

In July of 2007, Chris and I sold our home in Southern California and began construction of our new home here in The Cliffs Valley.

Faced with the prospect of putting our household goods in storage while we awaited the completion of our new home, we were concerned about both the high costs of storage and the possibility of damage to them. As we explored alternatives to storage, we discovered Country Place. Located just outside the Terry Creek gate to the Valley, the proximity to our home site was perfect and allowed us to be at the house on a moment’s notice. The monthly rent was very competitive with other rentals in the immediate area.

Country Place allowed us to eliminate the hotel expense of visiting The Cliffs during the early months of construction. Because many of the units were already occupied, we didn’t worry about security while we were away.

In May, when we finally relocated to the area permanently, we were already set up at Country Place and able to access any of our belongings still packed away but with us in the large upstairs recreation room.

Perhaps the most pleasant surprise was the great people already living at Country Place while awaiting completion of their homes at The Valley, Glassy and Mountain Park. We have made fast friends that will endure long after our home in The Valley is completed.

New and very clean accommodations, a terrific view of The Valley, and a very flexible landlord removed living accommodations from our list of concerns and allowed us to focus all our energy on the new home we were building.

Ray and Pat, we had an excellent experience using you home at Country Place. I recommend it to anyone needing a place to stay and entertain friends or family. The setting is beautiful, the house is extremely comfortable and well equipped. Upon arriving we immediately felt right at home, especially after you left the appreciated goodies and other amenities. The location very private and you are so close to the Cliffs that there is a world of social and athletic opportunities just outside the door. I know we will stay in a furnished Country Place home again and we will rent an unfurnished house long term when we start to build at Glassy. ”

Ray, I want to thank you for your wonderful hospitality and to let you know how much I and the 5 others in my golf group enjoyed our stay at Country Place last week. The house was clean and in perfect condition upon our arrival and could not have been more convenient to the Valley and La Bastide. The house was set up perfectly for a group of golfers. As you know, I am a Valley member living in Ohio with vacant land only at the Cliffs and like to get down at least once or twice a year with a group of guys to play a few rounds of golf. Country Place clearly provides me with a great option to use as a “home base” during these trips and I will certainly let you know the next time I plan to be down.

With so many out-of-town guests coming in for my daughter's wedding, we wanted to have everyone close. My home was full of family and we had no room for the wedding party. The model home at Country Place was the perfect alternative. The spacious accommodations slept ten comfortably. The fully furnished and beautifully decorated home was fabulous for my daughter and new husband’s friends. ”

Our family enjoyed its recent stay at Country Place – a mere 200 steps from the Terry Creek gate. The convenient location provides easy access to the Valley Wellness Center and the Valley Clubhouse as well as Highway 25 and Highway 11. I am building a home in Mountain Park and now live out of town. During my past visits to the Cliffs to meet with my builder I have stayed at six different hotels and Country Place I now always try to stay at Country Place because it is both close to my home site at Mountain Park and just outside the Terry Creek gate where I can conveniently access the Cliffs’ Valley amenities. I meet my future neighbors, it is quiet, and I can enjoy my meals in a spacious new Country Place home. Country Place is a great value. ”

Thank you so much for your wonderful hospitality during our stay at Country Place while we made arrangements to meet with builders to plan for our new home in Glassy. Our visit was one that Duane and I will remember fondly. The comfortable and lovely surroundings and the special effort you made to welcome us by including us in Cliffs activities are greatly appreciated. We felt more like visiting friends than tenants.

We were comfortable at Country Place because the homes are large, well appointed and well arranged. We especially enjoyed the spacious, comfortable fireside area and the master bedroom--although all the other areas in the home (and there are ample to accommodate three couples or a family with three or four children) are well arranged also. The master bedroom and bath were a pleasure. The king size bed was so comfortable that we never missed our own at home--a first, I think, in our many travels.

With its proximity to the Cliffs at Valley, the Cliffs at Glassy and Mountain Park, Country Place is perfect for new residents who will want to be near while planning or building their own Cliffs home--or for visits to the communities by members who aren't ready to build yet. Not only is it convenient because of the short drive to the different Cliffs communities, Cliffs members are also given an opportunity to meld into the wonderful Cliffs social life because of your introductions to your friends and the helpful information you graciously passed on to us.

Deciding to leave Florida after 35 years, and looking far and near, we found our "place" here in the Cliff's Valley. We purchased a wonderful lot on the golf course, sold our home in Florida and had planned on living on our boat in Florida while we built our Cliff's home. However, after meeting Ray Laub and visiting the very nice, new, well constructed homes at Country Place we decided to rent while we built.

There were several reasons why we changed our minds:

• The costs of storing our belongings were substantial.
• The home at Country Place had adequate storage room for our furniture and belongings... most remaining in boxes!
• Ray & Pat Laub couldn't be a better "land lord"! It's been a long time since we've rented, and they made the year long building experience palatable!
• And... most important… the location to the Cliff's Valley was great. We not only became a "resident member" using the facilities much more than if we were in Greenville, etc. Obviously, being a few minutes from the construction site was extremely beneficial.

The home at Country Place was unfurnished, but all else was "e;turn key"e;. We had no grass to mow, maintenance to concern us, etc. Ray certainly made our year of building a pleasant experience... but, I have to add we do love our new home a lot more! Fortunately, we remain very good friends with Ray & Pat.

I certainly would recommend Country Place to anyone building in the Cliff's! ”
